Live music is good.
Decided I'd better not spend another night by myself in my house and I couldn't get anyone to come with me, so I just drove an hour to see a band I like. I went by myself and it was a tiny show, I think only 15 people were in teh building, including band members, at any given time. But the venue was cool, the bands that I saw were really good, and I walked out of there feeling like my music hobby could get some traction.

i do this a lot. At first I hated being the awkward guy alone at the venue. wasn't too bad when the venue was big, but at smaller ones its really obvious. Now though-- having gone to dozens of concerts by myself -- its not even a problem anymore. I go to any concert for bands i like within 4 hours driving time. Just went to Little Rock last weekend alone to see the Generationals and Mates of State. It was an awesome venue -- and about 15 people like you describe. Those are the best shows really.
